Getting what we want doesn’t always turn out so good, which (hopefully) gives us pause to reconsider. Or, to put it biblically, where is your treasure?

Is it really more blessed to give than to receive? Is sacrificial giving sensible? Who would give everything away to ungrateful jerks? (Hint: it’s not a tree.)

No matter what our age, we can all use some stories that bring us peace.

It’s simple: lying to others breaks trust at some level. So is trust something that can never be put back together once it’s broken?

Sort of a “why do bad things happen to good people” message, with the added benefit of hope over the troubles of this world. 

A goose teaches us how wisdom comes from reading, i.e., a bible on our bookshelf (or in our phone) doesn’t help unless we read it.

Here’s a grizzly story where we learn adults can be bullies, Christians can act ungodly, and words (spoken or written) can really hurt (but also heal).

God uses a food lesson to teach a story about people…people we might treat as unclean pigs, showing no respect, and deeming them unworthy.

While we may be the sheep of God’s flock, we are not the cattle of God’s hills. So what does God want from us? (hint: not your cows.)

Ever doubt an angler’s “I caught a fish this big!” tall tale? That same suspicion of fishy stories can carry over to the bible. Unlike fishermen, though, God doesn’t lie.
