Jesus offers to trade burdens. He tells us to take his burden because it’s easy and light and will give us rest.

Twice Jesus shows unsuccessful fishermen where to catch fish. Listening to Jesus is not a one and done thing. It’s a lifetime of being schooled by the Master.

In our tragedies Jesus cries with us. Feels our pain. One of the reasons he came in human flesh. But Jesus does not weep as one who has no hope or one who is powerless.

We found a letter from someone we’d never met. Despite being marked “personal”, we’re reading it aloud.

Peter wrote some things in the bible that are shocking to the modern ear. Things we don’t like to hear and are hard to understand.

Sheep are not smart, stray easily, and need a shepherd to survive. Ditto for us, despite our best efforts. Fortunately, we have Jesus–our shepherd–who goes to extremes to save us.

A life built on something other than Jesus is like a pet rock. You can call it a life, but it’s so much less than the real thing.

Remember the “got milk?” ad campaign? Well, Peter is asking us to get spiritual “milk” to grow as Christians.

We pray, but do we really expect God to answer? And what happens when He does?

It’s a lesson on not rejecting people.
