Christmas cookies, fruit cakes, and desserts…sweets and Christmas go together. This Advent season’s message series, Sweet Christmas, serves up (literally) a special treat each Sunday – one of pastor Mark’s favorite Christmas candies – and how each reminds him of the coming of Jesus.

We wrap up our Hidden Treasures message series with personal stories associated with three different books. The takeaway?

When we overlook little things, the results can be disastrous. And even when we do good things, what’s our motivation?

An advocate supports or defends a cause. What do you care enough about to make a difference, or stand for to make things better?

You may not feel comfortable giving your name to a total stranger. But aren't you glad God knows it?

Small acts of kindness can change the world. But what happens when we ignore those opportunities God brings before us?

Getting what we want doesn’t always turn out so good, which (hopefully) gives us pause to reconsider. Or, to put it biblically, where is your treasure?

Is it really more blessed to give than to receive? Is sacrificial giving sensible? Who would give everything away to ungrateful jerks? (Hint: it’s not a tree.)

No matter what our age, we can all use some stories that bring us peace.
